Vermicompost is a type of Organic Fertiliser. It is derived by composting organic waste by using various species of earthworms. It contains water-soluble nutrients and is an exnt, nutrient-rich organic fertilizer and soil conditioner. A well-balanced vermicompost comprises of Nitrogen, srus, Potassium, Sulr, Calcium, magnesium and Iron. It also contains micronutrients like manganese, Zinc, Copper, Boron and molybdenum. Nutrient wise, vermicompost is superior to Cow Dung Manure. It is also known as Green Manure.
Vermicompost actually increase the water retention capacity of soil in a manner. The organic compounds gets absorbed into the soil and the micro-organism in the vermicompost help the roots of the plant to grow healthy by fixing important nutrients in the soil and overall absorption of the same.
