The site is currently powered by a 41km 30kV overhead power Namdeb main substation. A solar power plant solution is sought for, an alternative power supply, to the existing aging power infrastructure at Kerbehuk. 1. The solar power plant solution should ensure that it; a. delivers at least 15kWpe. b. guarantees the supply for 3 days of no sunshine. c. includes a battery solution to store the energy for the said period of autonomy (3 days). d. includes optimum DC bus voltage specified for maximum power transfer. e. includes inverter units with combined excess capacity of up to 300% to allow for redundancy f. allows for switch-over to existing standby diesel generator.. g. includes upgrading of existing 15kVA UPS to a 20kVA UPS with a maximum storage capacity of 3 hours, which shall act as a filter unit when running on standby diesel generators. h. includes a SCADA unit which shall constitute local (for monitoring system status and operating system) and remote (for monitoring system status) functionality. i. Communication link to Windhoek and Oranjemund to support the SCADA. j. includes a fire protection system for the equipment room. k. includes air-conditioning for equipment rooms added. l. includes a maintenance tactic (schedules and task list) specified to sustain the integrity of system during its specified life. 2. Supply of design solution as specified as per 1 above, and 3. Installation and commissioning of the design solution specified as per 1 above, which shall include construction and civil works for equipment rooms (both batteries and invertors).
