Elevated Water Tanks: Elevated Water Tanks Capacity 50 m3 or 25 m3 out dimension Tanks Capacity 50 m3 3660mm x 3660 mm as per drawings .The tank is one constructed from pressed plates of 1220X1220 mm. 3.1 Tank Body - The roof are made by galvanized steel plate with thickness of 3 mm - lateral plate s and bottom plate s are made of galvanized steel pressed plates with thickness of 5 mm. - Same above specification with painted mild steel (second alternative). - The top plate and bottom plate are composed by 9 pieces steel board each side plate is 36 pieces. - The tank body shall be specified as follows: a. Bottom plates shall be 5mm thick plates. b. Wall plates shall be 5 mm thick. c. Cover plate shall be 3 mm thick. d. Manhole at the top of the tank shall be 600X600 mm complete with a lockable cover.e. Cowl ventilator shall be 100 mm diameter covered with mild steel Bonnet fitted with mosquito nal and internal ladder shall be manufacture from M.S flat 50X6 mm and M.S round bar 16 mm diameter the external ladder to rest on the ground through concrete foundation bolts.g. Inlet pipe, overflow pipe ventilation pipe and drainage pipe are made by galvanized steel pipe. h. All pipes and connections should be 3 inch dia. i. Outlet pipe should be 4 inch and extend 50mm inside the tank.j. Over flow pipe and drain pipe should be connected together by three – way joint, sharing a common drainage pipe. The overflow opening should be half blind, the drainage pipe and outlet pipe should be provided by valve. k. Place the drainage pipe on the position 0.2m high up from the ground, set anti-mosquito screen on the air vent nozzle. The nozzle direction should be directed downward. l. The galvanized pipes connect with the tank body through welding, use inner and outer screw method on the pipe connecting position. m. Over flow pipe should be fixed at the upper end of the side with half circular openingn. The drain pipe should be equipped with control valve.o. Connection end should be threaded typesStep Dimensions are:  Span 400 mm  Distance between two steps 300 mm p. Water level indicator shall be made out of mild steel pulleys, float 3 mm steel d weight, two angles 40X4.7 mm, shall be welded at the face of the tank with gradation between them to indicate the water level inside the tank. q. Connection for water opening shall be as specified below: o Inlet (100 m) threaded to BS 21 with fittings to connect delivery pipe from the pump.o Outlet (100 mm) threaded to BS 21 with fitting to connect main network distribution pipe. o Washout (800 mm) threaded to BS 21. o Overflow (800 mm) threaded to BS 21. - The tank shall be braced internally with 80X80X6 mm M.S angles, the first apron of M.S steel angles shall be at one third of the height measured from the bottom. The second apron shall be at two thirds of the height and the third and last apron shall be at the top of the tank internally - The tank body shall also reinforce with vertical angles of the same size at one third of each panel.- Roofing plates rest on two angles rafter of size 80X80X6 mm at the top of the tank - Roofing to have M.S plates structure and a dome shape for cylindrical tank and sloping for square base tank. - It should be noticed that the overflow pipe and washout pipe shall be connected together below one tank with one value and one discharge pipe down to the ground level therefore these two openings shall be on one side of the tan; and on each other. - Add platform and handrail with height 1.2m around the tank and on 6m height position 3.2 Supporting Tower - Height of tower shall be 6 m (20ft. height) composed by two segments, each segment is 3m. - Span shall be 2.44m on both ways - Branch beams shall be of IPE standard 180X91X 18.9 kg m or equivalent ,length =3750mm. - Main beams (Architrave) shall be of IPE standard 200X100X22.4 kg m or equivalent length = 3819mm. - Stanchions shall be of two bays each bay is 3.0 m high with a total height of 6.0 meters. Which shall be manufactured from ASTM –A513 either: A- HEB 120X120 (26.7kg m) ( 6m long) B- IBE 200X100 (24.4 kg m) ( 6m long)All wind bracing shall be manufactured from 75X75X6 m2m steel angle and tied with Bolts &Nuts. - Foot plate and top plate thickness shall not be less than 20 mm. - Gusset plates thickness shall not be less than 16 mm. - Holding down bolts with nuts and washer shall be supplied complete with adequate sizes but not less than 16 mm if 4No. Anchor bolts are decided to be used per footing. - The top of the tower should be designed with support span aligned parallel to each of the bottom connection he plates. 3.3 Paints - Tank and tower shall be painted with antirust prime coat. - Two other coats shall be painted as follows: a. Tank - Internally coating shall be of bituminous non-nd the color shall be painted with black and white. - Externally shall be painted with black and white of approved oil paint. b. Tower - Tower shall be coated with bituminous black paint; water level indicator shall be with white and red graduations. 3.2Galvanized pipes: - Galvanized pipes to comply. With B.S.1487 – medium gauge 6 meters length each, threaded to B.S.21 cylindrical thread coupled at one and protected at the other. 3.3 Steel Angles : - Hot rolled equal angles to comply with BS4848part 4. - The steed shall be grade 43 as in HS 4360 part 2. 3.4Guarantee
