Only two species can use Codfish designation: Gadus morhua (Codfish from the Atlantic) and Gadus macrocelus (Codfish from the pacific). The rest must have dried salty fish for designation. Atlantic codfish (Gadus morhua): It is caught in the North Atlantic and is the most known and consumed of the Codfish species.
