About Us
A global supplier of top quality live, sustainably sourced blue lobster (homarus gammarus) and brown crab (cancer pagarus), the Lobster Pot has been operating for 70 years. It is run by Tristan Wood, the third generation of the Wilson Family at Church Bay on the Isle of Anglesey, UK.
Our Markets
Sourcing live sustainable shellfish from North Wales and other parts of the UK, 99% of our products are exported into Europe, the Middle East and Asia. In 2017, we exported over 1000 tonnes of shellfish and achieved a turnover of $10 million.
Our Facilities
The Lobster Pot has pioneered logistics for the transportation of our live shellfish over the years, using air freight and by road. The introduction of an innovative factory facility 5 years ago ensured the ability to hold shellfish in optimum conditions, reducing the stress and thus keeping the produce at their premium. The transportation and storage systems created allow for regular checks of our produce, ensuring it is of the highest quality.
Modernised holding tank rooms and packing area are equipped with new technology and equipment to meet ever increasing traceability requirements and food safety standards.
Our Supply
The Lobster Pot is supplied year round by vivier boats and day boats from around the Welsh coast (Lleyn Penninsula and Anglesey) as well as further afield in the UK. These boats are skippered by trusted and experienced crew who value the long term sustainability of our species for future generations of fishermen.
Our Customers
The Lobster Pot wants to continue trading with its traditional customers, some of whom we have trading with for over 50 years. We would also like to demonstrate our innovative nature in meeting the demands of new customers. If you would like more information, please contact us on [email protected]
