Company EmBraVerde was founded in 2011 in the state of Goias in Brazil. Growing giant Bamboo for the production of biomass (green energy) and Bamboo poles (furniture industry) are in the focus of our activities. In addition, EmBraVerde is involved in the compensation of carbon dioxide (CO2) by the use of Bamboo plantations.
Therefore, a 30 hectares’ farm is operating as a huge nursery for the production of bamboo-seedlings. In 2015 we have been producing more than 50.000 seedlings of Bamboo species Dendrocalamus (D.C.) ASPER and D.C. STRICTUS.
The Bamboo grows fast within eight years to a total height of up to 30 meters.
An area of one hectare provides at least 50 tons of biomass per year, year by year. The lifetime of that Bamboo shows more than 80 years.
EmBraVerde is able to produce pellets and already produced char coal made of Bamboo. The values for energy are similar of high quality wood, however, the quantity of energy per area is far bigger than wood.
In addition, the Bamboo provides “poles” as a source for the furniture industry, for the reinforcement of concrete in civil engineering (construction) and as a source for the paper - industry. The Bamboo is as strong as steel.
Furthermore, this plant is suitable for the recovery of damaged soil (land) and for erosion prevention on hill slopes and verges.
The Bamboo absorbs more than 50 tons of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) per hectare and year and it produces 30% more oxygen than any other plant on earth.
EmBraVerde is well prepared and able to support activities all over the world for the fight against climate changes and Global Warming.
EmBraVerde is specialized in the production of Bamboo seedlings at our nursery, located in Caldas Novas in the state of Goias in Brazil.
In 2012 EmBraVerde received an order from the University Federal of Goias (UFG) for the production and delivery of a big amount of Bamboo seedlings. The university has been selected by the Brazilian Government to analyze and evaluate the production of Bamboo seedling in Brazil and to distribute the plants for homeless people, who are traveling cross the country and sometimes occupying land that is not in use for farming. The idea is to give them a chance for "settle down", grow the Bamboo and sell Bamboo poles for furniture industry and biomass for use as thermal energy.
The project is still with total seven universities in Brazil. Please contact us in order to receive detailled information.
We are working closely with universities in Brazil and in Europe (Hamburg, etc.) in various areas to support the use of Bamboo, worldwide.
