Nandolo Farmers Association of Malawi (NFAM) is a pigeon pea farmer based organisation. It was established in 2015 through PMSD forum meetings (Participatory Market System Development) after observing serious marketing and supply chain gaps that were identified from Pigeon pea producers’ failure to manage efficient supply chains. It was observed that markets were available including India-World’s main importer of Malawi’s Pigeon peas but smallholder producers were not corporately organized to ensure smooth participation in the export market. NFAM therefore, was established to facilitate lucrative market linkages and smooth trading of Pigeon peas in Malawi. Currently, the association has accumulated membership of 10,682 Pigeon pea producers across the country.
