Scissors are most commonly used in the home. They make a great tool for cutting out pieces of construction paper, paper dolls, and most importantly, loose threads from clothing. At least one pair of scissors can be found in every household. Though they can be manufactured by hand if necessary, generally-speaking, production manufacturers must pool together all their resources to produce a pair of scissors that will last long enough to cut through longer materials such as jeans or silk shirts.
I’ve been doing research on the cost to manufacture a pair of scissors for a project I have been assigned at my job. As far as I could discover online, there does not seem to be any particular website where information is readily available about this topic. This is why I am so excited to be writing this article. I have compiled information from at least three different sites, including sites that are specifically dedicated to researching various topics in regards to manufacturing items for businesses or individual use.

On average, however, it costs manufacturers less than $5 to produce a pair of scissors. Whether they are made in China or Japan, the cost to manufacture something is rarely more than you would pay for that same item in your home country. This is because manufacturing companies pool their resources together in order to provide the cheapest prices possible on the products they offer.
Most household items can be manufactured without any problems at all, but one should always keep in mind that if something seems too good to be true, it probably is. If someone approached you with an offer for a brand new iPhone 4S available only in black for about $10 each when its actual value was closer to three times that amount, what you think he or she might be trying to sell to you is technically considered stolen merchandise. While it may depend on the state in which you live, this would be seen as a felony in most cases.
